Biden, wife to visit Buffalo over mass shooting that lost ten lives

United States President, Joe Biden and his wife, Jill will be traveling to Buffalo in New York on Tuesday, 17th May 2022 to grieve with community that lost ten lives in a senseless and horrific mass shooting that took place on Saturday.


Biden who disclosed this on his official social media platform on Sunday, also said him and his wife is praying for the victims, their families and devastated community from yesterday’s mass shooting in Buffalo, New York.


According to the United States President, "Our hearts are heavy once again but our resolve must not waver; we must work together to address the hate that remains a stain on the soul of this nation.


Meanwhile, grieving residents from Buffalo held vigils Sunday after a white gunman who officials have branded “pure evil” shot dead 10 people at a grocery store in a “racist” rampage.


A man who killed 10 people in an allegedly racially motivated mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, has been arraigned in court and charged with first-degree murder.


Payton Gendron, 18, appeared before a judge in a paper medical gown and was arraigned on a murder charge over the shooting at a Tops Friendly Markets store. He was detained without bail.


Police said he shot 11 Black and two white victims before surrendering to authorities in a rampage he broadcast live on the streaming platform Twitch.


Investigators are reviewing a purported manifesto posted online in connection with the mass shooting, two federal law enforcement officials told CNN.


"It is my sincere hope that this individual, this white supremacist who just perpetrated a hate crime on an innocent community, will spend the rest of his days behind bars," Governor Kathy Hochul, speaking near the scene of the attack, said.
