What Kenyatta says to Queen Elizabeth ll on her Platinum Jubilee

Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta has sent congratulation, celebration and goodwill message to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the British monarch's reign and service.


The President wished the Queen good health and prosperity, and assured the 96-year-old monarch of Kenya's continued partnership and service as an active member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Also, Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has wished and congratulated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee.


The President on his social media platform, said on Thursday, "I rejoice with a loyal, patriotic, compassionate leader who truly works for the people.


"People never lose trust in Queen Elizabeth. Their firm belief is that she always has the potential to deliver, especially during troubled times.

"It is confirmation of the fact that Queen Elizabeth always acts and delivers according to people’s expectations.


"I and all the citizens of Nigeria wish her many more years as Queen of England and Commonwealth Head, in excellent health", Nigerian President said.


Queen Elizabeth II who is the first British monarch in history to reach a Platinum Jubilee, having ascended to the throne on 6th February 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI.


The then Princess Elizabeth, the older of the king's two daughters and next in line to succeed him, was in Kenya at the time of her father's death; she was crowned Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953 aged 25 years.


Meanwhile, London bore witness to some of the most spectacular ceremonial and pageantry on earth on Thursday with the Trooping of the Colour.


A normally impressive official celebration of the Queen’s birthday lent extra weight this year by it also marking 70 years of the Queen’s reign, called the Platinum Jubilee.


Following a ceremonial military parade of soldiers, the Guards, who as the name implies guard the Queen but are also elite fighting infantry deployed around the world, soldiers marching past Buckingham Palace were followed by a crowd of well-wishers.

Walking up Pall Mall, the long, tree-lined avenue leading from the Admiralty and Horseguards’ Parade to Buckingham Palace, thousands who had turned out were met by the Queen who was photographed smiling and waving from the balcony at the Palace.


The culmination of the ceremony was a fly-past of 70 aircraft representing the air arms of the three military services: the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force.

A flight of Eurofighter Typhoons spelt out ’70’ in formation in the sky, and Red Arrows aerobatics display team deployed red-white-and-blue smoke.
