Uganda's Museveni hosts Muslim faithfuls on annual Iftar dinner

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni has hosted Muslim brothers and sisters on annual Iftar dinner at the State House Entebbe, congratulated them for coming closer to the end of their fasting period.

The President who made this known on his social media platform on Saturday, said fasting is a good discipline just like the Quran teaches, even biblically it is encouraged for the Christians.

According to him, "We shared a lot on developmental issues and as usual, I used the chance to advise them against working for the stomach only.

Just like the Hadith says: "If one of you were to carry a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it, that would be better than doing nothing", Museveni said.

Uganda's President called for unity in the Muslim Community in Uganda. "Unity is a good thing that is why the NRM really likes it.

"Islam too teaches it as a platform for believers to spread kindness to others, as well as an opportunity for our spiritual growth to become closer to Allah.

At the same dinner, he promised that he will address the country on the issue of high prices of essential commodities after consultation meetings with my people.

"We have already met with the Caucus; we are going to discuss this more. Once again congratulations to all Muslims for making it to this point in this period and wish you luck", he said.
