The Chairmanarman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has applauded Israel Adesanya for his giant strides of defeating his opponent, Jared Cannonier to extend his winning streak to 12-0.
In a statement released by the Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of the Commission, Mr. Gabriel Odu on Sunday.
Israel Adesanya who is one of the Nigerian in Diaspora while retaining his Unified Fighting Championship (UFC) title, beat an American Jared Cannonier at the T-mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA on Sunday morning.
Reacting to the win, NIDCOM Boss hailed Adesanya's performance and praised him for showing the true Nigerian Spirit of "Not Giving Up" of Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora.
Dabiri-Erewa urged the UFC champion to sustain the momentum and win more laurels for Nigeria in Kickboxing.
Meanwhile, the UFC middleweight champion, Adesanya defended his belt against Jarred Cannonier at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
The Nigerian-New Zealander fought expertly to win the match with a unanimous decision after five rounds, remaining undefeated.
