Surgery: Tinubu, Lawan, others wishes Osinbajo speedy, full recovery

Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Presidential candidate for All Progressive Congress APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and other personalities have poured wishes on Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is recuperating in Lagos after a surgical procedure on Saturday to treat a pain in his leg.


The Senate President, Lawan in a statement signed by his Spokesman, Ola Awoniyi on Monday, sent a message of get-well-soon to the Vice President while joining Nigerians and well wishers in expressing relief from the success of the surgical procedure.



According to him, "I wish our Vice President a full and speedy recovery. We thank God for the success of the surgical procedure and pray God, the Great Physician, to touch him with His healing hand and perfect the healing.


"We earnestly pray that the Vice President speedily bounces back on his feet to continue his service to the nation," Lawan said.


APC Presidential Candidate, Tinubu on Monday tweets, "I wish my good friend Professor Osinbajo a quick and uncomplicated recovery as he recuperates from his recent, successful surgery. May God Almighty grant him complete healing".


Also, People's Democratic Party PDP Presidential Candidate, Abubakar Atiku on Monday tweets, "Dear Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, my family and I wish you speedy and complete healing from your surgery. We can't wait to see you up and about and in the service of our dear country".


Meanwhile, Duchess International Hospital, Lagos where the Vice President is being treated, issued a statement through the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Tokunbo Shitta-Bey confirmed that Osinbajo is on excellent path of recovery.


Shitta-Bey further said the hospital is honoured to have been chosen to provide His Excellency, Osinbajo's surgical treatment. "We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and for VP's extraordinary confidence in our healthcare system in Nigeria".


Osinbajo, was admitted on Saturday to Duchess International Hospital, Lagos, on account of a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), possibly related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.


Had a successful surgical operation performed by a team of specialist doctors, which includes Dr. Wallace Ogufere (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Om Lahoti (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon).


Also, Dr. Babajide Lawson (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Ken Adegoke (Consultant in Anaesthesia & Critical Care); Dr. Oladimeji Agbabiaka (Consultant Anaesthetist); and Dr Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi (Consultant Physician & Medical Director).


The Vice President, Osinbajo is expected to be discharged within the next few days, according to earlier statement released by the Hospital.
