Peter Obi salutes Team Nigeria's medal win at Commonwealth Games

Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Pete Obi has saluted and celebrated Nigeria's athletes who represented the country in different sporting events at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.


This salutation was coming after the team outstanding victory, winning the most medals in the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games, which was concluded on August 8 in Birmingham.



To beat the 1994 Victoria Games, the Nigerian team won 12 gold, nine silver, and 14 bronze medals while the women won all 12 gold medals.



Peter Obi said: "I congratulate most especially, those who through their sacrifices and years of intense practice, brought honour and prestige to our nation by winning different medals in gold, silver and bronze".


He hailed the athletes for writing their names on Nigerians hearts. "You all have written your names in our hearts, and Nigerians appreciate your great efforts. Congratulations to you all", Peter Obi said.
