Broadmind Special Projects Ltd has given insights on how the upcoming Build and Groove; Gombe 2022, to be held in May, will impact significantly the youths, Gombe State and Nigeria in general.
Broadmind Chief Executive Officer, Akinfenwa Mobolaji on Friday, while responding to some questions from Media Bypass Correspondent said the concept behind the event is basically on education, information and enlightenment.
Akinfenwa who is also working with Archibuilt Development Services Ltd, an Organization powered by the Nigerian Institute of Architects, stated that the event is basically for the youths on opportunities at their beck and call for legitimate daily income without depending on the Government for employment or private Organizations
.
According to him, "There are Organizations that have a plethora of opportunities for people to key into in different ways without engaging these individuals on their payroll, but the challenge is, how many people have such information? So under the roof of entertainment we can create these information dissemination channels since entertainment bring together all and sundry".
He added that Build and Groove; Gombe 2022 will educate attendees not only about economic opportunities, but beyond. "For instance, how to protect your home against fire incident, how to differentiate an Architect, Land Surveyor, Structural Engineer and a Builder in the building industry.
"Do we really know the function of some Government Ministries and what we can benefit from them without being on their payroll? And these examples are relatable and endless", Akinfenwa said.
Broadmind Chief made it known that there will be training sessions and empowerment on or before the event. "We have organized training sessions which will come up a week before the main event and those trained will be assessed and top performers will get some degree of empowerment.
"Others will have the opportunity to still make a living from what they must have learnt. Some of the training modules include Polystyrene installation, Flexiclay installation, advanced beauty make-up, advance videography, photography for beginners, coding for beginners, digital marketing skills, Scan to BIM which attracts CPD for professionals in the construction industry and much more", he said.
Akinfenwa noted that the economic development of a state is not a one man’s job. "It's all about everybody, the Government and the People. All hands must indeed be on deck. We've secured the blessings of the Gombe State Government and with opened arms they welcomed the initiative and gave more light to some trainings that can be beneficial directly to the people.
"So if the Government has given the green light on this, the onus is now on the people to embrace and partake in it. Kindly note; when the people make a living especially through economic activities, Corporate Organizations emerge and the government in return generates funding to do much more for the people", he stated.
He further said it is worthy to mention that the State Government is already looking at the possibility of providing industrial park for some Organizations that have products and services in the State.
Akinfenwa stated that discussions are underway to encourage the twenty-two State House of Assembly Members to possibly sponsor some of their constituency youths or people for some of these trainings, as it will be beneficial to empower people. It is certainly a win-win for both the Government and the People.
