Museveni mourns Ugandan Speaker of Parliament's death

Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has mourned the passing of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who died in the hospital in Uganda on 20th March, 2022.


In a statement signed by the President on Sunday as the Museveni said he got the sad news at 10:30am, East African time from the people that have been with him and the doctor that was caring for him in the intensive care unit.


According to him, "Countrymen and Countrywomen. It is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, the Speaker of Parliament".


The President noted that Oulanyah was a good Cadre. "I delayed the announcement so that his children would be informed first. May His soul rest in eternal peace


Oulanyah, an agricultural economist, lawyer and politician, who served as the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda. MP for Omoro County. Borned 23 March 1965 (age 56 years), Gulu, Uganda.
