The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has revealed that Elizabeth Line station project supporting 55,000 new jobs, apprenticeships of 1,000 and forecasts to boost the United Kingdom economy by £42 billion.
Boris Johnson disclosed this on his social media platform on Tuesday while delighted the Elizabeth Line Train station has opened to the public today.
According to his tweets, "Absolutely delighted that the Elizabeth Line has opened to the public today.
"Long-term investment in UK infrastructure pays off with this project alone supporting 55,000 new jobs, 1,000 apprenticeships, and forecast to boost the UK economy by £42bn.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II was on hand at London's Paddington station to officially open the newest Underground line station named in her honour, the Elizabeth Line, couple of days ago.
Accompanied by her son Prince Edward, who was originally set to do the honour alone, she is applauded by Prime Minister Boris Johnson as she unveils a plaque marking the Elizabeth Line's opening.
She appears in good spirits as she speaks to station staff and even tries her hand at topping up an Oyster card.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said, "the opening of the Elizabeth line is a landmark moment for the city. "It will improve transport links, cut journey times, increase capacity, and help with our recovery from pandemic.
"I can't wait for you to see it for yourselves. It was an honour to be joined by Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, at the official unveiling", he said.
