The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun on his 62th birthday, 29th May, has said that he is reassured of God's unrelenting support despite numerous, man-made odds and challenges.
Abiodun who took to his social media platform on Sunday to mark his 62th birthday, glorified God for his victorious emergence in his Party APC's Gubernatorial primary.
According to him, "My birth anniversary of this year, like those in recent years, is reassuring of God's unrelenting support despite numerous, man-made odds and challenges.
"To His glory, it especially comes just days after my victorious emergence in our party's gubernatorial primary, an indication that both God and the people want us to continue on this transparent path, having spent three productive and impactful years on this saddle of leadership".
The Governor is grateful to God for His special grace of life, appreciated his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun and entire family.
Also, a formidable administrative team, friends and all the good people of Ogun State who conveniently entrusted the valued mandate of governance to him.
"It has been God and people, and it will remain only God and people", Ogun State Governor said.
Meanwhile, Governor Abiodun was declared winner of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which was held in the State recently.
Abiodun recorded 1,168 to defeat five other contestants who scored zero vote.
The defeated five aspirants are Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, Modele Sarafa — Yusuf, Chief Remilekun Bakare, Arc. Owodunni Opayemi and Biyi Otegbeye.
While they were absent but sent agents to represent them. A total of 1,180 delegates from 236 wards spreads across the 20 Local Govt Areas were accredited for the primary.
Hon. Wale Ohu, Chairman of the five-man APC Governorship Primary Committee in Ogun State, announced Abiodun as winner.
He said, “Having scored the highest valid votes, he is hereby declared winner and Governorship candidate of the APC in Ogun State for 2023 Governorship election.”
