Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged rape video purportedly depicting students of Chrisland School Lagos, going viral on social media currently.
In a statement released by the Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin on Monday, the Police said the Probe is to establishing the identities of the players in the video, the true incident in the video, the geographical location of the incident.
Also, the alleged threat to life against a student of the school and circumstances surrounding the alleged repeated pregnancy tests conducted on a student without parental consent.
Moreso, the Command is equally taking cognizance of the cybercrime angle to the whole episode and would not hesitate to enlist the support of the Interpol should the need arise.
For a holistic and unbiased investigation, the Command shall be working with relevant ministries, departments, agencies and non-governmental organizations.
While the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has assured that due diligence will be observed to ensure that there is no miscarriage of justice.
Meanwhile, the mother of 10-year-old girl from Chrisland school allegedly gangraped by classmates in the viral video has come out to speak how she found out the case of her daughter's rape.
She stated that the first conversation she had with some headteachers was that it was a kiss between her daughter and a boy from school.
The teacher also told her to collect her daughter’s phone from her to curtail any future occurrence of such behaviour.
She revealed that her daughter told her that one Mrs Azike threatened her not to speak out.
She also said Chrisland School sent some delegates who interrogated her daughter without her consent.
Also, reports gathered revealed that the School Authorities suspended the 10-yr-old girl student for involving herself in a truth-or-dare game during their trip to Dubai.
When the pupils from the prestigious high school traveled to Dubai in March to compete in the World School Games, which took place between the 10th and 13th of March, 2022.
Reports says the School Authorities alerted the girl’s father on the 14th of April 2022, sent a letter to her dad that she engaged in “improper behavior” after playing the truth-or-dare game.
Describing her as a “major participant. According to the school, other students who participated in the game were also suspended, claimed the girl and her parents did not help with the investigation.
Also, Lagos State Government has shut down all branches of Chrisland School in various parts of the state over the alleged sexual abuse of one of its pupil.
A statement from the government amid controversy over the issue, involving some pupils of the school taken on a trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), said the matter was being investigated.
“In the meantime, all Chrisland Schools within Lagos State are hereby closed, pending further investigations,” the government said.
