South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated Miss Ndavi Nokeri, a 23 year-old lady who was on Saturday at Pretoria crowned the 2022 Miss South Africa.
On his congratulatory message through his official social platform on Saturday, the President said he was inspired by Nokeri's reflection on shared responsibility as a nation in ensuring a sustainable, innovative and inclusive South Africa that unlocks opportunities for all.
According to him, "Congratulations to our newly crowned Miss SA 2022 Ms Ndavi Nokeri. I was most inspired by your reflection on our shared responsibility as a nation in ensuring a sustainable, innovative and inclusive South Africa that unlocks opportunities for all", he said.
Ndavi Nokeri, a 23-year-old from Tzaneen in Limpopo was crowned in a glitzy ceremony on Saturday night at Time Square's SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
With panel that consist of influential personalities, including former South African Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu of India, former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi (2019), and former Miss World Rolene Strauss (2014).
Other judges include award-winning investigative journalist Devi Sankaree Govender, businesswoman and Miss South Africa 1990 Suzette van der Merwe, and actor and TV personality Thando Thabethe.
During the question and answer session, when asked what the most important thing is to keep the unity of our nation, the BCom Investment Management graduate said history is the greatest teacher.
Nokeri said, "To know where you are going, you need to know where you come from. Being a nation that comes from a history of a past of racial segregation, we know that when we were divided, we were at our weakest.
"So as Miss South Africa I would implore us to stand together and embrace every single culture, gender, race and sexuality because in our diversity we are strong", the beauty Queen said.
Ndavi Nokeri has a BCom Investment Management degree from University of Pretoria and is currently working for an asset management firm in South Africa.
